Once upon a time, there was an order to things. Last year, there were three haves in our PATD 4.0 Men's Subflight - Great Valley, the Chambermaids and Hos, and the Drunken Fools. The other three teams went oh-for-the season against the three haves, so we had six weeks of tuneups and 4 weeks that decided the regular season.
Those days are no more, my friends. As Capt. Mike alluded to in his weekend review e-mail, the subflight has been turned on its head after last week's results. Easy Killers (formerly the Chambermaids and Hos) falling to the West Chester Aces? The Drunken Fools dropping a 3-2 decision to Kinetix? What in God's name is going on here?
The upshot here is this - no more weeks off this year, aside from our other match with Healthplex, I suppose. Maybe next time they can get FOUR guys to show up. But I digress. We have back-to-back big matches against Kinetix and Easy Killer (though we'll see if the Memorial Day weekend match gets postponed, I'm hoping so). It's imperative that we stave off the other competition while working towards our matches with the West Chester Aces...last year showed that there can be very little room for error if we want to get back to the postseason.
Tuneup at GVHS tomorrow as always. Big one against Kinetix on Saturday. Let's remind everyone that this subflight goes through Great Valley.
